Harrold Volunteer Car Service
In partnership with the Wellingborough Volunteer Centre we are attempting to introduce a new service in our area to help patients, mainly elderly or disabled, to get to their essential medical appointments, be it here at the practice, hospital or dentist. This service is for people without their own transport and where public transport is unavailable. You will be picked up from your home, taken to your medical appointment, the driver will wait for you and return you safely home. You may also take along an escort at no extra cost.
The drivers are all volunteers, using their own vehicles and you are asked to cover their petrol expenses only. There is an annual registration fee of £10 to cover admin costs (telephone calls etc.). All drivers are CRB checked and if you are interested in becoming a driver please contact the Volunteer Centre on 01933 272735 between 9am-12.30pm.
