Swine flu vaccination programme
The practice is now vaccinating patients in the following at risk groups :
All those aged over 6 months and under 65 years in a clinical risk group :
- Chronic respiratory disease and asthna that requires continuous use of inhaled steroids
- Coronary heart disease
- Chronic renal disease
- Chronic liver disease
- Diabetes
- Immunosuppression due to disease or treatment. Patients undergoing chemotherapy leading to immunosuppression, patients who have had a splenectomy, patients treated with or likely to be treated with systemic steroids for more than 1 montyh at a dose equivalent to Prednisolone at 20mgs or more per day (any age) or for children under 20kg a dose of 1mg or more per kg per day.
Pregnant women.
People who live with those whose immune systems are compromised.
Patients aged 65 and over in the at risk groups above.
Main carers of elderly or disabled person whose welfare may be at risk if the carer falls ill.
If you have an egg allergy you are advised to speak to the practice nurse in the first instance.
