Flu vaccine information
Patients 65 and over
This year, for the first time, there is a separate vaccine for patients aged 65 and over (patients 65 before 31st March 2019).
We have so far taken delivery of 400 of our 1,000 ordered vaccines and have been instructed to prioritise patients as below :
- Patients 75 and over
- Patients 65-74 and in an “at risk” group
- 65 -74 years not in an “at risk” group
Expected/anticipated delivery dates of further supplies of the vaccines are 23rd October (200 vaccines) and 13th November (400 vaccines).
We do not have enough stock of vaccine at the moment to vaccinate all our over 75’s but have invited patients with surnames “A to Q”. We will write to the remainder of this group + 65-74 years once we have the vaccine.
Patients 18-64 – in “At risk” group
We held a successful clinic on Saturday 29th September and vaccinated over 200 patients. We will be having a further drop in clinic for the 18-64 year olds on Monday 22nd October 5.00pm to 6.15pm.
We now have stock of the above vaccine for children aged 2 & 3 years plus 2 years to 17 years in an “at risk” group. We have clinics on :
- Thursday 18th October 3.00pm to 4.00pm
- Wednesday 24th October 3.15pm to 5.15pm
- Thursday 25th October 3.00pm to 4.30pm
